Wonderfully rendered miniature of an English officer in dress uniform. His uniform indicated he was an officer in the Coldstream Guards. I was able to find a Captain Richard Gregory who was courtmarshalled in the late 18th century and was given a “reprimand” but because the court would not “vouchsafe” (reveal” the charges against him, he resigned his commission. We believe this was highly unfair.
