Wonderful early Wedgwood vase with applied jasperware decorations and base, Bacchus handles, and gilt accents. Lid intact, which is somewhat rare for these pieces. This vase is an advertisement for many of Wedgwood’s decorating techniques, and was based on classical forms. In fact, Jack Stella’s Livre de Vases played an important role in providing classical example for Wedgwood’s designs.
