Early 19th Century Portobello or Brown Ware Staffordshire Jug With a Chinoiserie Motif

Wonderful yellow on brown chinoiserie motif small jug. Not much is known about the manufacture of Yellow Printed Brown Ware (YPB), also known as Portobello ware, but it appears to have been made in England during the first and second decade of the 19^th century. This has a small chip from the rim, but the band of yellow decoration seems to camouflage it quite well. The handle may have been touched up at some point. Really unique and lovely!
