A circular (tondo) monochrome or grisaille maritime artwork depicting sailing vessels on calm waters under a moonlit or overcast sky. Tondo formats were frequently used for cabin, marine, and porthole-style decorative pieces during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Mounted on a textured mat and framed in a new Shadowbox frame. Minor loss at bottom of painting.
