17th century hand colored engravings of works by Maria Sibylla Merian, a pioneering botanical artist best known for documenting the flora and fauna of the Dutch colony of Surinam. Her work intentionally was made to appeal to ‘lovers of art and lovers of insects’. The engravings have been mounted with gallery mats under UV protective glass.
