Unusual small memorial painting "Sacred to the Memory of Samuel Merrell." Undated, but these were produced in America mainly in the early 19th century. A rather fanciful cathedral sits in the background and a flower adorned urn sits in the foreground. In a heavily patinated gilt frame with an auction sticker indicating partial provenance on the reverse. Charming!
